One Dead After Car Hits Three People Crossing Street

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - One man is dead and another injured after a car hit three people who were crossing the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Larch early Saturday morning.

Lansing Police say the car was heading northbound when it hit all three people just before 2:30 a.m..

One pedestrian was taken to Sparrow Hospital and treated for minor injuries, while the third left the scene. Lansing police say the man who fled may have suffered injuries as well.

Lansing Police say the driver of the car was not under the influence at the time of the accident. Police say the driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with their investigation.

The accident caused police to shut down the intersection until around 8:00 a.m.

Police have not yet released the name of the man who was killed.
