Kenneth J. Doka, PhD and Karla Helbert, LPC, will consider the needs of bereaved individuals on the autism spectrum and explore the ways that these individuals may experience grief. A major component of the webinar will focus on interventive strategies designed for supporting individuals on the autism spectrum who are experiencing grief and loss.

During the program, panelists will discuss changes that have occurred in the DSM treatment of Autistic Disorders; examine the ways that individuals on the autism spectrum may experience grief, noting both similarities as well as differences with ways that grief may be expressed by neurotypical grievers; explore the underlying theories and principles that support useful grief interventions for grieving individuals on the autism spectrum; and highlight interventive activities that might be used with these individuals, based both on grief theory and clinical practice.
Registration is $84.95 for an organization or $24.95 for individuals; free CEs are included for a wide range of professionals. Registration includes access to the program online for one year after the original air date.
