Consumers Energy, HCL Technologies Partner To Create 300 New Jobs

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - Consumers Energy is helping to bring 300 new jobs to downtown Jackson by the end of 2014.

These jobs will be in the newly created Michigan Technology Development Center.

The inauguration ceremony took place Monday afternoon.

HCL Technologies and Consumers Energy shed some light on the Michigan Technology Development Center in Jackson with a lamp-lighting ceremony.

Bringing jobs to the downtown area is a promise Consumers Energy made to Governor Snyder to invest in Michigan companies.

This is part of a partnership between Consumers Energy and HCL Technologies, a leading global IT service provider.

Mid-Michigan is a great place to start because of young, local talent.

The two companies hope that will help keep Michigan's best and brightest close to home and bring high-tech companies to Michigan.

HCL hopes their partnership with Consumers Energy brings them even more business to Jackson.

The center has been fully operational since May and is hoping to have 300 new employees by the end of 2014.
