University Of Michigan Leaders Plan To Visit India

Posted: Updated:

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - University of Michigan leaders including school President Mary Sue Coleman plan to visit India next week.

The Ann Arbor school says the trip announced Wednesday is designed to build partnerships and strengthen collaborations with institutions of higher education in India. The University of Michigan group plans to be on the trip from Nov. 13-17.

In a statement, Coleman says the visit is a "natural extension of the strong partnerships the university has enjoyed in India for many years."

The school plans to work with Indian educational leaders on issues such as trauma care and sustainable development. They hope to create educational experiences that allow both University of Michigan and Indian students to better understand global challenges.
