Doctor Arrested On Criminal Sexual Conduct Charges

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - A mid-michigan doctor who practices in Jackson and Albion is out on bail after being charged with two counts of criminial sexual conduct.

On Wednesday, authorities raided Dr. Horace Davis's Albion office, asked patients to leave and took him out in handcuffs. Outside his Albion office, patients sat for hours, waiting for appointments and answers.

"We're in the dark with this right now and we need something to settle us so we're not scared for our health and we need Dr. Davis," said Thomas Hamilton, a patient of Dr. Davis.

Patients say they need check-ups and mediciation, but since Wednesday's search by the DEA, Davis's Albion and Jackson offices remain closed.

Officials charged Davis Thursday with first and second degree criminal sexual conduct, after a mother told police Davis inappropriately touched her then-11-year-old daughter during a physical three years ago.

Since then, Davis bailed out of jail and stopped by this office.

"He just stopped in this morning to let the patients know that I'm not going to leave you hanging, I'm going to be here for you and you're going to get your medications that you need to get," said Randy Fidler, a patient of Dr. Davis.

"I'm just thinking he left all these patients in the air not knowing what to do. I was all stressed out trying to figure out what to do," said Benjamin Smith, a life-long patient of Dr. Davis.

Despite Davis's criminal charges, patients waiting outside his office say they support their doctor and hope he gets back to his job as soon as he can.

Supporters plan to hold a rally outside Davis's Albion office on Saturday at 1p.m.
