EATON RAPIDS, Mich. (WLNS) - Its been 95 years since the end of the "war to end all wars" and ceremonies started early Monday morning to recognize the millions of American's who have served their country.
The students of Island City Academy honored more than a dozen local veterans Monday.
Students sang the star spangled banner along with a special tribute song during a touching flag ceremony.
Veterans from the Vietnam War, the Korean War and World War 2, shared memories during the ceremony.
One Vietnam veteran is now a mentor to younger veterans. He says it's important to be there for each other.
"Talk to those veterans. If you're having problems, get with a VA. They have people who are trained to help you. Don't suffer like a lot of us did from Vietnam," said John Potter, Vietnam War Veteran.
Following the ceremony veterans were treated to a buffet style breakfast.
