Lansing Sexton 26 - Saginaw Swan Valley 21

Setting up the showdown at Ed Majeski stadium.

It was a defensive battle in the first quarter., with zeros on the board until the second.

Malik Mack pitched the ball back to Avonte Bell. The offensive line created a nice gap for Bell, and he took it in for the 13-yard touchdown. And the Big Reds got on the board first.

Sexton found their offensive mojo two minutes later. Mack handed off to Bell, and he decided to play quarterback and connect with Javon Cooney for the 30-yard touchdown. Sexton led Swan Valley 14-0.

In the fourth, Swan valley's Alex Grace was on the run, and he sliped right into the endzone for the Vikings first score of the night.

But the Big Reds had a response three minutes later. Mack launched one upfield and landed it right in the hands of Rod Lewis for a great catch. He beat the defender and high stepped it into the endzone for a 20-7 Big Red lead. And Dan Boggan was loving it.

But the Vikings from Swan Valley were relentless. A handoff to Grace broke right through the Big Reds 80 yards for a touchdown. And just like that, Swan Valley took its first lead of the game, 21-20.

The Big Reds said 'not in our house' though. Mack, with two minutes left in the game, found Cooney for a touchdown.

The Big Reds survived 26-to-21 to capture the Divison IV regional title. And they are 12-0, as a very happy and emotional Dan Boggan was congratulated by his wife.
