DETROIT (CBS) - A person with knowledge of the deal says the Detroit Tigers and Texas have agreed to a blockbuster trade that would send slugger Prince Fielder to the Rangers for second baseman Ian Kinsler.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday night because no announcement had been made.
According to CBS Sports, Fielder will go to the Texas Rangers in exchange for Ian Kinsler. Kinsler is a second baseman for the Rangers.
It's a "done deal, pending a physical," according to CBS.
Detroit Pitcher Justin Verlander also tweeted the news.
Prince was signed onto the team in 2012 at 29-years-old for $214 million over nine years. He was a part of the AL Central championship team for the two years he was on the team, but struggled in postseason.
Kinsler just finished the first season of a $75 million, five-year contract.
