Canine Cops: The Elite Eight

Posted: Updated:

They lay their lives on the line, to protect our own, by tracking criminals, hunting down drugs and finding missing loved ones.

For these members of the Michigan State Police, making it into the Canine Unit is their life-long dream; but, getting here takes hard work, dedication and determination. Troopers and their dogs train for months, tracking more than 100 miles, searching dangerous buildings and learning what it takes to make it into one of the largest and busiest units in the country.

The job may be dangerous, but for these handlers and their dogs, it's a dream to serve the community as partners.
