Tips, Tricks And Avoiding Scams During Cyber Monday Sales

Posted: Updated:

LANISNG, Mich. (WLNS) - Millions of people will be shopping for deals online during Cyber Monday, but any online shopping makes it easier for intruders to get into your personal information.

In order to protect yourself, you'll need to watch out for scams. Some things you can do include making sure the website has a secure connection by looking for the letter 's' after 'http' in the URL. Paying with a credit card offers more security than paying with debit.

Be sure to check and keep a record of all your order confirmations and receipts.

It's a good idea not to use public wifi when making purchases online and instead only use secure connections.

If you have devices such as a smart phone or tablet, using the password lock feature is highly recommended to keep all of your data protected.
