Father Gets 60-160 Years For Sexually Abusing 3-Year-Old Daughter

JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) -- A 28-year-old Jackson man will spend decades in prison for sexually abusing his 3-year-old daughter.

Wednesday, Jackson County Circuit Court Judge John McBain sentenced the father to two consecutive counts of 30 to 80 years in prison. Combined, that means the Jackson man will spend 60 to 160 years of his life behind bars for the heinous crimes.

"You'll be 88 years old before you'll be eligible for parole in this matter, if you even live that long," Judge McBain said. "You're going to pull some tough times in the Department of Corrections."

In October, the girl's father pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct. He said he raped his daughter "too many times to remember" over the course of a 6-month span with the help of his wife.

"How could you do that to a little 3-year-old girl? How could you stand there and rape your own daughter?" questioned John McBain.

In court Wednesday, prosecutors said the words horrific, egregious and gruesome don't even begin to describe this case.

"You are absolutely the worst sexual offender I've ever seen before this court," said Judge McBain to the defendant. "I can't even begin to fathom how you could do what you could do to your own daughter, somebody you had an obligation to protect."

The child's mother also faces charges in this case, which include seven counts of criminal sexual conduct and one count of first degree child abuse. Prosecutors expect her trial to begin in 2014.

***6 News has decided not to identify the man because he shares the same last name as the child.
