Records: Ferris State Football Coach Shook Player

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - Records show Ferris State football coach Tony Annese shook a player and struck two others on the shoulder pads in a locker room outburst that led to an eight-day suspension last month.

The documents were obtained by under the Freedom of Information Act.

Annese says he was trying to motivate his team during the tirade, which came during halftime of an Oct. 26 game against Michigan Tech.

Athletic director Perk Weisenburger summarized the findings of the incident to Annese and administrators at the Big Rapids school. In those findings, Weisenburger warns Annese that any similar outburst will result in his firing.

The Associated Press sent a message to Annese on Wednesday seeking comment.

The coach tells he learned from his mistake and has "moved on."
