Old Newsboys Lansing Spoof Journal To Start Sales Thursday

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The old newsboys, the ones behind the entertaining Lansing Spoof Journals, have a lot to celebrate!

On top of celebrating their 90th anniversary at the Capitol Wednesday, the group announced that Governor Rick Snyder has officially declared "Old Newsboys" day to be December 5, the same day the group sells their infamous spoof journals.

On Thursday, volunteers will be around the greater Lansing area selling the fun-filled newspaper. The group encourages everyone to be a part and pick a paper up if you get the chance.

"It's tremendously important. I mean, whether a family is caught in the vicious cycle of poverty or just fallen on some hard times, a pair of shoes can really make a difference between some groceries or not. So to be a part of this and see the generosity of the great Lansing community is just excellent," said Luke Confora, the president of Great Lansing Old Newsboys.
