Mich. State School Superintendent Mike Flanagan Retiring In 2015

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Michigan State School Superintendent Mike Flanagan has announced he will retire in 2015.

Flanagan told 6 News he wanted to retire this year, but agreed to stay longer.

A source says it was time for a change, but Flanagan contends a majority of the board was pleased with his performance, thus the agreement to stay on for another two years.

A search committee is being formed to find a replacement. Flanagan was appointed by the board in 2005.
