Spartan Fans Get Ready At Home For B1G Championship

Posted: Updated:

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Spartan fans everywhere are gearing-up for the B1G Championship game Saturday.

Not everyone in East Lansing is headed to Indy, so bars and restaurants here are preparing for large crowds this weekend.

"We're going to be slammed," says Jen Mattline, a manager at Reno's East Side Sports Bar and Grill. "It's going to be wall to wall people so we've got all of our staff working and we've doubled up on our food and beer orders, just to prepare for the big game."

MSU fans are out buying more green and white to get ready for the big game.

"Its great, people are buying Michigan State stuff and Legends championship stuff," says Brad Balline, a manager at the Student Book Store in East Lansing.

They have B1G Championship shirts and hats, but they are hoping to have some Rose Bowl gear by next week.

"We've been working the last week getting stuff ordered," says Balline. "And we will have Rose Bowl stuff Monday, the majority of it on Tuesday... Assuming we win."

MSU will take on the Ohio State University Buckeyes in their run for the roses. Michigan State is ranked 10th in the nation and Ohio State holds the No. 2 spot.

Kickoff is a 8:15p.m. Saturday at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
