Medical Marijuana Distribution Center Bill Passes Committee

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Legislation to create distribution centers for medical marijuana is teed up for final passage in the Michigan House, perhaps as early as this week.

The legislation cleared the House Judiciary Committee on a strong, bipartisan unanimous vote.

"It creates a place that's in a business or industrial, not a residential area, box store, where you can have medical marijuana distributed to patients that have a recommendation from a doctor," said State Rep. Mike Calton.

A third bill, which would allow pharmacies to produce and sell medical marijuana, also passed the committee. The bills now move to the full House.
