Future Of 'Buff Judge' Hits Mich. Supreme Court

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - A Wayne County judge is trying to save his job after having an affair with a woman who had a case in his court.

The Michigan Supreme Court is hearings arguments Wednesday in the case of Wade McCree, who had an affair in and out of the courthouse with a woman who had a child support case on his docket.

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission wants McCree removed from office and also suspended for six years if he's re-elected in 2014. The commission says McCree committed gross misconduct and embarrassed the judiciary.

McCree has admitted mistakes but believes the punishment sought by the commission is too harsh.

The Supreme Court knows McCree. He was reprimanded last year for sending a shirtless photo of himself to a female deputy.
