EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Michigan State University Police are investigating a Tuesday night strong-arm robbery that left a student unconscious.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday outside the stairwell of North Hubbard Hall, near East Akers Hall.

The 18-year-old victim was standing outside the hall when a man asked for directions and asked if the student was carrying a cell phone.

The student was delivering a pair of black Oxford shoes at the time of the robbery, which were missing when he regained consciousness.

The suspect took off in a car heading west toward Shaw Lane.
