Winter Storm Moves In, Expect 3-5 Inches Of Snow And Strong Winds

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for mid-Michigan.

Counties affected include Mason, Lake, Osceola, Clare, Oceana, Newaygo, Mecosta, Isabella, Muskegon, Montcalm, Gratiot, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allgean, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson.

Cities include Ludington, Baldwin, Reed City, Clare, Hart, Fremont, Big Rapids, Mount Pleasant, Muskegon, Greenville, Alma, Jenison, Grand Rapids, Ionia, St. Johns, Holland, Hastings, Charlotte, Lansing, South Haven, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Jackson.

The weather advisory remains in effect from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Expected weather conditions are 3 - 5 inches of snow and strong winds from the east.

If you're traveling, remember roads will likely be covered in snow and be slippery. Be sure to leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you, as visibility will be reduced.
