TMSG: Local Authors Write Movie For Hallmark Channel

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Tis the season and the setting to be jolly for two Lansing writers living out their own Hallmark moment for the holidays.

A funny and festive Christmas collaboration between Deanna Talcott and Debbie Majinska will now leap from the page to the screen.

"It's just really neat to see how everybody came together," said Talcott. She came up with the story for "Hats Off to Christmas." An accomplished author, she says she loved the move to movies because of the creativy it allowed her.

"We've got a wonderful setting with the hat shop and a young lady who runs it," said Talcott.

Debbie Majinska teamed up and wrote the screenplay, her third one, but first turned into a movie. She says she's proud the spirit of the script came alive for the actors.

"You're basically telling the story with pictures and of course you want the dialogue to pop," said Majinska.

But what really makes for hats off praise for the two is how quickly this all came together. They started writing in the spring, it was picked up in the summer, filmed in the fall and here we are ready for the Christmastime debut.

"Hats Off to Christmas" premieres this Saturday night on the Hallmark Channel and will run for the rest of the holiday season. For listings and showtimes and more on the movie, visit Seen on Six.
