Retailers Report Lower Holiday Sales

Posted: Updated:

Michigan retailers are reporting lower sales this season, saying not even Black Friday sales boosted retail numbers.

The National Retail Federation says there's been a nearly 3 percent drop in sales over the four day weekend, the first drop in seven years.

However, the federation expects this month's spending to rise nearly 4 percent.

In order to achieve that growth, businesses are offering heavy discounts, door prizes and marathon hours.
