EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Michigan State's president Lou Anna K. Simon issued a notice to students Thursday reminding them those involved in the disturbance following the Spartan win over OSU will be prosecuted.
She reminded everyone they are still searching for suspects involved by means of social media sites.
LETTER TO STUDENTS:
In the email, Simon also warns students to celebrate responsibly following the Rose Bowl in California. She says they "are representing the entire Spartan Family" and to make the right choices.
East Lansing Police Captain Jeff Murphy says the department's been continuously working with MSU since the night of the Big Ten Championship to make sure some fans don't offer a repeat performance.
Just because many students may be off for break, ELPD is warning they'll be ready. "When big events like this tend to happen, people tend to come back to East Lansing on occassion. So we're planning right now to have extra officers, East Lansing along with some of our law enforcement partners," said Cpt. Murphy.
Even standing within 300 feet of a fire is against the law and can be punishable by a fine and up to 90 days in jail.
