Target Warns Of Credit Fraud Problems

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - If you've used a credit card at a Target store starting from Black Friday until last Sunday, authorities are warning you may be at risk for having your information stolen.

The names of 40 million customers, along with their credit and debit card numbers and security codes, could be in the hands of hackers after the chain reported a data breach Wednesday.

The Secret Service and outside forensics company are investigating the case. Target says the issue is resolved, but is still warning customers to check their bank statements for any possible suspicous activity.

The security break did not affect on-line purchases.

If you believe your card has been compromised, Target has a hotline to help. Call 1-866-852-8680.
