OKEMOS, Mich. (WLNS) - A fundraiser for an infant boy fighting a medical condition brought together hundreds of people.

His name is Dominic and he's just 4-months-old. Right now, he's in Ann Arbor, preparing for his fourth surgery because he has Hirsch sprung's Disease. The condition affects his colon and small intestines and also caused him to be born with only one kidney.

Since his birth, Dominic has had his colon removed, giving him an ileostomy and he'll ultimately need a small bowel transplant to survive.

Although he still has a long road ahead, his family is excited to get him home for the holidays on Monday. "That would top all other Christmases," said Alison Lathrop, his mom.

"It'll be great to have him home," said Andrews Lathrop, Dominic's dad.

The family organized a fundraiser at the Asian Buffet in Okemos, where 10 percent of proceeds will go to Dominic's family. It started this week on Monday and runs until Friday, December 20.

Dominic is also a twin. The two were born 10-weeks early, but his brother is healthy.
