Meridian Township Declares State Of Emergency

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) - Meridian Township has declared a state of emergency following an ice storm that went through Mid-Michigan this past weekend.

Officials say they're expecting some residents to stay without power up until December 28, depending on the forecast.

High winds are expected again on Wednesday, which could lead to more more power outages, downed lines and tree branches.

Several warming stations have opened to help those who have lost power and a need a place to go.
