Muskegon State Park Again Hosts Winter Camping

Posted: Updated:

LAKETON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Muskegon State Park is hosting winter camping for the first time in more than a decade.

According to park supervisor Kevin Klco (KEL'-soh), the winter camping option primarily is being offered to provide visitors with the opportunity to take part in activities at the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex.

The winter sports complex is within the state park. It features luging, ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding.

Muskegon Winter Sports Complex director Jim Rudicil says winter camping at the state park has its benefits. He tells The Muskegon Chronicle it "will add a cool element to visiting here."

The state park features more than 1,100 acres.
