LEONI TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in southern Michigan have found the body of a missing 19-year-old woman in the Grand River.

Kaley Brooks had been missing since Saturday. Her 18-year-old ex-boyfriend Nicholas Jackson shot himself Sunday. Police had found blood in the back seat of his car and said they believed it was from Brooks.

MLive.com reports that Brooks' body was found beneath the ice in the river about 8 p.m. Tuesday in Leoni Township, which is about 65 miles west of Detroit.

Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety Director Mike Jester says her body had several stab wounds but said the cause of death won't be released until the autopsy is complete.

Police say Jackson had a history of domestic violence and was due to start a jail sentence Monday.
