Detroit Firefighter Hurt In Apartment Blaze

DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit firefighter was hurt while battling a blaze at an apartment complex on the city's west side.

According to The Detroit News, Senior Chief Douglas Lyon says the firefighter was burned Wednesday night. He was treated at a hospital and released.

WWJ-AM says the fire broke out just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

No one else was hurt. Dozens of residents were forced to leave the building into freezing temperatures outside.

The American Red Cross has been asked to help displaced residents.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
