Better Business Bureau Warns Of Scams

With the recent ice storms, the Better Business Bureau is warning people to beware of businesses trying to take advantage of them.

Our media partners at MLive spoke with the Better Business Bureau who offered some tips for consumers as they are looking for help from damages in the ice storm.

First, don't feel pressured into hiring a contractor on the spot. They say to look up contractors and businesses first before hiring anyone.

Next, check to see if they contractor is licensed or registered and get quotes from several places first. 

The bureau also says never to pay up front for a service.
