BWL: Most Power Restored By Weekend

Posted: Updated:

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – The Lansing Board of Water and Light said on Thursday it hopes to have fewer than 1,000 outages to take care of by the end of the weekend.

General Manager Peter Lark said crews have restored power to 96 percent of customers, leaving a little more than 4,000 homes in the dark as of Thursday afternoon.

BWL said it's brought in outside assistance, and crews have been working 16-hour shifts to get power back up and running.

Once all customers have power, Lark said the company will consider issuing credits to those affected by the storm. It's not a standard BWL practice, but Lark said given the nature of the storm, it's something the company will look into.
