Man Steals, Crashes SUV & Leaves The Scene

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Police are searching for a man they say stole and crashed an SUV and then took off in another car.

Lansing Police say it all began when the victim, a 28-year-old Lansing man, got into an argument with the suspect at a party store near Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Mt. Hope Road around 11:30 p.m. Friday. Police say the victim left the party store and proceeded to drive home, but was followed by the suspect.

When the victim got to his home, on the 2000 block of Osband, the suspect got out of his car and pointed a gun at the victim. Police say the two got into a fight and the victim dropped his car keys in the process.

The suspect grabbed the keys and took off in the victim's Chevy TrailBlazer. Police say the suspect soon lost control of the SUV and crashed it. The suspect then got into a waiting car, which police describe as a green '90s-model four door Pontiac Grand Am.

The victim was treated for minor injuries and is expected to be OK.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his late teens around 6' tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a yellow hoodie and carrying a handgun.
