Spartan Fans Arrive in LA En Masse

LOS ANGELES (WLNS) - Thousands of Spartan fans decked out in green and white descended upon downtown Los Angeles on Sunday in anticipation of Wednesday's 100th Rose Bowl game in Pasadena, where Michigan State will face Stanford.

Alumni and fans who signed up for tours through MSU traveled on chartered 737s and arrived at hotels throughout the day.

"When the plane landed, the whole plane broke out in 'Go Green, Go White,' and there was a spontaneous singing of the Spartan fight song, and we've got more buses coming in, thousands of Spartans from all over the area," said Dave "Sparty" Brown, director of alumni engagement for the Michigan State Alumni Association.

Tens of thousands of more Spartan fans are expected to arrive in the Los Angeles/Pasadena area through Wednesday.
