Still More Than 1,000 Without Power In Mid-Michigan

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - There Board of Water and Light is estimating 800 customers are still without power. They also have around 500 service reconnection requests, which are customers who need electrical contractors to reattach masts or whose electrical contractor has finished service.

The Lansing Board of Water and Light has 32 line crews making repairs, 13 tree trimming crews, three electric service worker crews and nine spoorter crews working throughout Monday.

Line crews are working in the following areas to restore power:

Grant/N. Dexter
Cumberland/Tecumseh River
MLK/Mt. Hope
Mt. Hope/Sunnyside
Hagadorn/Haslett (E. Lansing)
Chandler/State (E. Lansing)

BWL says they're expecting power to fully restored by 11:59p.m. Tuesday.

Many of BWL's customers have not been pleased with the board's communication about the power outages. On Monday night in Lansing, the city council is holding a special meeting to discuss everything related to the ice storm from outages to clean up efforts and improving communication.

According to the Consumers Energy outage map, there are only 18 customers in Livingston County without power.

DTE energy's outage map shows all lights in their area are back on.
