MSU Marching Band Prepares For Rose Bowl Performance

Posted: Updated:

(WLNS) - The highly anticipated Rose Bowl game kicks off New Year's Day at 5 p.m. from Pasadena, where Michigan State will take on Stanford.

Many fans left for California on Sunday to witness the historic game live in person.

The players and their loudest supporters are anxiously preparing for the contest. In fact, the football players are not the only ones who know practice makes perfect.

The MSU marching band is getting ready to put on a great show Wednesday. "The excitement is just overwhelming, and really it's even surreal that we're even here in california to begin with. It's really a dream come true, and the history of the marching band and the university is so important to us as a band too and we really live rich in the traditions of the university and the football team and the band itself. So, the rose bowl is really something that we're always striving for our team to get to," said Frank Loomis, Drum Major, Spartan Marching Band.

Spartan students, alumni and fans alike hope to head home with smiles on their faces and a 2014 Rose Bowl win under their belts, following the big game on New Year's Day.
