CATA Offers Rides Late On New Years Eve

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - With New Years Eve just a day away, CATA transportation wants you to remember to be safe while celebrating the New Year.

The bus company will once again be offering safe rides this year. 12 different buses will be available to take you home New Years Eve.

CEO Sandy Draggoo says it's a service they've been doing for over three decades and says they'll be ready to make sure you don't drink and drive.

"I never want to lower the number of operators that are ready, because if they have to wait too long, they won't wait and they'll get in that car and drive. We have to be ready, otherwise we might as well not operate it," said Draggoo.

Approximately 250 rides are given each year. The fairs are 60 cents for seniors and students and a $1.25 for adults.  Drivers will again be available from 10p.m. to 4a.m. on a first come first serve basis.
