BWL Says Power Will Be Restored By Start Of 2014

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Some people in Lansing have been without power for going on 10 days.

There are still 200 Lansing Board of Water and Light customers without power, down from 650 Tuesday morning.

"I can announce that all customers will have power available to them by the end of [Tuesday]," said Peter Lark.

An additional 400 customers are in the dark because of broken masts. BWL is telling those customers they must get an electrician to fix the masts before power can return.

The BWL customer walk-in centers in Lansing will remain open on Wednesday from 8:30a.m. to 5p.m. The East Lansing location at the Hannah Community Center will be closed.

On Tuesday, BWL released an over 40 page plan on their website outlining their procedure in case of an emergency where there are significant outages.
