Police Remind Drivers To Take It Slow In Ice And Snow

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - New Year's Day is over and most mid-Michiganders are heading back to work.

But roads are much icier than normal, so you'll want to allow extra drive time.

The Spartans big Rose Bowl win will have many people excited as they leave the house this morning, but take it easy with that excitement when it comes to the roads.

6 News' Francesca Amiker spoke with the Ingham County Police Department this morning and they say the roads are the worst they've seen in a while.

So far there have been three minor accidents, one involving a man who spun out and hit a tree. The man was not injured.

Police are definitely urging the public to take it easy and slow in the ice and snow.
