Ex-Michigan Treasurer Gets Same Salary As Adviser

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Former Michigan Treasurer Andy Dillon is earning the same state salary more than two months after resigning from his job for working as an adviser.

Andy Dillon announced his resignation in October. The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press report that Dillon is serving as senior adviser to state Treasurer Kevin Clinton and is being paid an annual salary of about $174,000, the same as when he was treasurer.

In October, Gov. Rick Snyder said Dillon would assist the incoming treasurer, but planned pay wasn't detailed.

Treasury spokesman Terry Stanton says Dillon helps Clinton with transition issues and has been working on local government fiscal issues. Stanton says Dillon started serving as senior adviser Nov. 1 and is expected to finish his assignment in four to six weeks.
