Firefighters Rescue Chickens After Garage Fire Spreads To Chicken Coop

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A detached garage caught fire Thursday morning and left firefighters rescuing chickens.

It happened around 9 a.m. Thursday on the 600 block of Foster Road in Lansing.

Fire investigators are still looking into the cause of the garage fire.

By the time crews arrived flames had already taken over most of the garage, causing the roof to collapse.

Firefighters also had to rescue chickens because flames spread into a chicken coop. The homeowner helped firefighters round up the chickens.

Officials say no one was hurt, but the garage is considered a total loss.
