Holt 59 - East Lansing 57

It was our big game, and it just so happened to the be the best finish too.

Holt fans were decked out in togas. East lansing coach Steve Finamore was wearing a sweater that matched his assistant, Scott Martin.

East Lansing led most of the way throughout the game. Senior Davontay Haines led with 20 points. The Trojans looked poised for their first league win this season.

Akil Mitchell got to the bucket for a lay-in, and East Lansing led by three with just a minute left.

But that was when the Holt Stars took over. Donquall Jackson was cold-blooded from three-point range, and that tied the game at 57.

East Lansing could not close out the win after missing 14 free throws, and with the clock running out, Jackson found Tyrell Williams. That was a go-ahead bucket.

East Lansing could not get an inbound play to work, and the Rams remained undefeated in thrilling fashion, 59-57. It was quite a nail-biter for Matt Essell.
