DeWitt 56 - Haslett 50

The Haslett student section was pumped up for a CAAC Red showdown.

And why should they not be? It was the first friday night basketball game in two weeks.

Also, Oakland head coach Greg Kampe was in the stands checking out Brandon Allen of Haslett.

In the first quarter, Justice Shankel missed the lay-up, grabbed his own rebound, and dished the ball inbounds and his teammate Benjamin Zamara had the steal and layed it in for two. He made it look easy.

In the second quarter, Zamara hit Erik Kaltenthaler, and the hook shot was good. Those panthers were tricky, as they take a nine-point lead.

Third quarter, Haslett had some tricks of their own. Lee Mott had a monster steal and layed it in to cut the lead to three.

But the Vikings were not done there. Allen found Patrick Harney, and he burried the three. And we were all tied up at 35.

Finally in the fourth, the Panthers sealed the deal when Evan Conn connected with Joshua Borta underneath the basket for a bucket and the foul.

Dewitt survived 56- 50 and is now 3-0 in the Red.
