CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WLNS) - Three dogs were found dead inside a dumpster behind the Payless Shoe Store in Charlotte. The store is located on Packard Highway.

Investigators believe the dogs were already dead before being disposed of and say they likely froze to death.

One dog was described as a shepherd mix with black and tan coloring and a pink collar. Another was a black short-haired mixed breed, wearing a white collar and the third was a border collie type with long black and white hair and no collar.

Officials say they were likely dumped between Wednesday and Sunday.

If you have any information on these dogs or their owners, you're asked to call Eaton County Animal Control at 517-543-5755 extension 1 or e-mail CrimeTips@EatonCounty.org.
