East Lansing Mayor Undergoing Surgery For Crohn's Disease

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - The mayor of East Lansing is in the hospital following surgery for Crohn's disease.

Nathan Triplett was taken to Lansing's Sparrow Hospital Monday with complications connected with the disease. He reportedly had surgery and need six weeks of recovery.

East Lansing Mayor Pro Tem Diane Goddeeris will take over the duties while he's out.

"Our thoughts are with Mayor Triplett as he undergoes surgery today," said East Lansing City Manager George Lahanas in a release. "We wish him all the best in his recovery."


Crohn's disease is a form of inflammatory bowel disease that can affect any part of a person's gastrointestinal tract.
