DNR Develops Bass Fishing Tourney Web Application

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (AP) - State agencies have developed a Web application designed to let bass fishing tournament directors schedule events at Michigan Department of Natural Resources access sites and report their catch results online.

The DNR says the Michigan Fishing Tournament Information System is available for scheduling this year's tournaments and will help avoid timing conflicts on particular waterways.

Tournaments can voluntarily share catch data, which the DNR's Fisheries Division says can be valuable in managing the state's fisheries.

Directors will need to set up an account to log in and schedule their events. Members of the public can use the application to check tournament schedules without logging in, but won't have access to catch results.

The Michigan Fishing Tournament Information System is available at http://www.mcgi.state.mi.us/fishingtournaments.
