Posted: Updated:

UPDATE (10:30 a.m.) - According to our media partners at WHMI, the Howell School Board passed a new teachers' union contract Monday night, after struggling since March. About 150 people participatd in the standing-room-only meeting. The new contract lasts through June 2015.

HOWELL, Mich. (WLNS) - A special school board meeting will be held in Howell Monday to talk about and vote on a tentative agreement with the teacher's union reached last week.

Teachers in the Howell Public School District have been working under terms of their last contract since the start of the school year.

Our media partners at WHMI say a controlling minority of the board rejected a previous proposal from the union.

The meeting will be held at 7p.m. in the administration board room.
