LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Lansing Police are searching for two men they say broke into a house, shot a dog and stole cash and medical marijuana from the homeowners.

It happened in the 3700 block of Stillwell Avenue in Lansing around 9p.m.

Police say the men claimed to be Lansing Police officers, entered the home and shot and killed a dog while it was nursing puppies. Inside the home were four children, who police say were asleep for the incident and did not see the dog get shot.

Officials say the suspects were able to get away with cash and medical marijuana, headed east out the back door into the backyard. Some witnesses said they saw the suspects get into a car.

They were described as two men, wearing dark clothing. One man had a black baseball cap on. Both men also had handguns.

No people were hurt during the robbery. LPD set a perimeter to try to find the men. The investigation is ongoing.

If you have any information about this robbery, call Lansing Police or Crime Stoppers at 517-483-STOP.
