The hall commemorates Michigan women who have distinguished themselves in one or more fields of endeavor. Candidates for admission may have been born in Michigan, achieved prominence within the state or been a resident of the state for an extended period after achieving prominence elsewhere.
Past honorees include U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, civil rights activist Rosa Parks, singer Aretha Franklin and Civil War soldier Sarah Emma Edmonds.
All nominations must be submitted by mail on approved nomination forms that can be found online. The deadline for submissions is March 21.
This year's induction ceremony will take place on Oct. 30 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing.
