JACKSON, Mich. (WLNS) - A 30-year-old man has been charged with murder for the death of his 4-month-old son.

It happened on the 100 block of Shahan Drive, north of Monroe St. in Jackson.

Police believe Michael Young Jr. was giving his son a bath, but with water that was too hot last Thursday. Young called for help at 11:30p.m. Sunday when the boy was having trouble breathing. Emergency personnel took the baby from the Jackson apartment to Allegience Health Hospital where was temporarily revived. The 4-month-old boy died Monday morning.

Jackson Deputy Chief John Holda says the baby's mother was not involved in the events.

Young is being held in jail without bond right now. He's expected back in court February 4.
