MSUFCU Displays Artwork By Kids From MSU Child Development Lab

Families gathered at Michigan State University's Federal Credit Union headquarters to celebrate the work of some young artists.

The Eli Broad Art Museum partnered with MSUFCU to display some work by preschoolers from MSU's child development lab.

The children are both full and half days students from both the Haslett and East Lansing campuses.

Children were shown work by Detroit-based artist Beverly Fishman and were asked to create a masterpiece inspired by her.

Officials say making art is a great way for children to expand their mind and learn new things.

"Its not just that they become excited about art but they can learn about language," said Alison Gass, Deputy Director at Broad Art Museum. "They can learn about language, math, they can learn about many things just by starting to think about the basic of form and shape and color".

The artwork will be on display for the next three months at MSUFCU's headquarters at 3777 West Road, East Lansing.
