President Obama Praises Costco CEO During Two-Day Road Trip

Posted: Updated:

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Less than 24 hours after President Obama addressed the nation for his annual State of the Union address he's off on a two-day road trip to put his words to action.

Obama wants to promote his economic ideas including increased opportunities for all Americans and decreased income inequality.

His first stop was at a Costco in suburban Maryland.

Why a costco? He wants to recognize the CEO of the big box warehouse for paying employees more than the current minimum wage.

"There are a lot of Americans who don't work somewhere like Costco and they're working for wages that aren't going as far as they once did."

The GOP does not agree with the President's call to raise the minimum wage, saying this move would cost the country jobs.
